Happy Festivus!

A very belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all! I hope you've had a fantastic festive season.  My life has been one be massive celebratory whirl since....well I'd say the week before my wedding and as wonderful as it has been...its actually nice to be back at work and back into some sort of routine.

I spent Christmas day at my sisters house with family and friends.  It was a day full of food and I mean FULL, drinks and lots of laughs!

I spent New Years with my in-laws (saying that still seems weird to me! along with introducing Marty to people as my "husband"!).  My brother in-law and his beautiful partner have 50 acres at Tarana between Bathurst and Lithgow, that they have just built a gigantor shed, that they plan to live in for a few years before building their first house.

I may or may not have sat up until 6am chatting with a few of these lovely peeps on New Years...its funny how all of a sudden you rush to get to the swag and close your eyes when you can see the sun coming up behind the trees...

I've ridden quad bikes up mountains to see this ah-mazing view on my other sisters farm "Rayburn" in the beautiful Capertee Valley.

Safety first eh.....
We then arrived home at 9:30pm to be straight back in the car at 9:30am the next day to go camping.

On the road again

We went camping at Mungo Brush at Port Stephens with one of our favourite little families for 2 nights.

I'm not a huge fan of waking up early but to wake up to this beautiful site at 6am is not such a bad thing....

There's been, late nights (or perhaps I could call them early mornings...), delicious food, a constant flow of cider and lots and lots of laughs with some of my favourite people.

But now its time to get back into the swing of things!

Welcome to 2013 everybody! How did you spend your festivus??

Sounds like you had an amazing holiday! We had Christmas with my family which is always full of amazing food (we're a family that likes to cook together, as long as there are copious amounts of cocktails being served while we're cooking) and New Year's at our place with a few friends. It is nice to be back at work though - looking forward to this year! xx
